​The Hakone Hiking Tour gets us back to what Hakone is all about. Hiking in beautiful Japanese mountain, seeing quiet and hidden temples and shrines some of Japan's best Onsen's and hopefully a view of Mt. Fuji.

 

This tour takes advantage of Hakone's drastic changes in elevation. The northern area which ranges from 600-1200m while the southern end tends to be 800-100m above sea level. This drastic change in Hakone's altitude allows an extended amount of time to see cherry blossoms and autumn leaves. As such each tour is customized on a day to day basis to take advantage of the weather, season, and of course aiming to get our Mt. Fuji view. 

 

This tour starts by meeting at your accommodation in Hakone or nearby station. There we will discuss the day and make our initial plan, please let us know if you have anything you've seen online and would like to do. From there we will drive to the start of our hike by private car.  Our hikes generally take 4-5 hrs including lunch. If you like to a longer hike and more exercise let me know in advance. Our hikes are often through hikes meaning we start and finish in different locations. Following this we will use one of Hakone's famous transportations systems either to one of our hidden gem locations. The transportation systems are one of Hakone's highlights. When used at certain times of day they tend of be busy however our tours are aimed to see them at the quietest times of the day. After our hidden gems searching we will visit one of Hakone's many local Onsen's before returning to the car and heading back to your accommodation or station to finish our day. 

Aspects of the tour can be customized such as pacing, onsen or specific things that people want to see. If you have stayed in Hakone the day before the start location can also be altered.
